Not Recommended — Most Cats are Lactose Intolerant

Can Cats Eat Milk?

Despite the popular image of cats drinking milk, most adult cats are lactose intolerant. Cow's milk can cause digestive distress. Special cat milk products are available as alternatives.

📋Nutrition Notes

Contains calcium and protein but also lactose, which most adult cats cannot properly digest.

🥄Serving Guidance

Avoid regular cow's milk. If your cat enjoys milk, use specially formulated lactose-free cat milk products. Fresh water is always the best choice for hydration.

⚠️Risks to Know

Causes diarrhea, stomach pain, and bloating in most adult cats. Kittens can digest milk, but adult cats typically lose this ability.
