Can Samoyeds Eat Blueberries?

Blueberries are safe and nutritious for dogs. They are packed with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins C and K, making them an excellent low-calorie treat option.

🐕 Samoyed-Specific Guidance

For a Samoyed (35–65 lbs), use the standard serving guidance, adjusting to your individual dog's weight and any breed-specific sensitivities.

Samoyeds are at risk for bloat (GDV). Avoid feeding large amounts of any new food at once, and don't give treats right before or after exercise.

Samoyeds can be prone to diabetes. High-sugar foods should be given very sparingly, and blood sugar should be monitored if your dog is diabetic.

Nutrition Notes

High in antioxidants (anthocyanins), vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, and dietary fiber. Low in calories at about 1 calorie per berry.

Serving Guidance

2–3 berries per 10 lbs of body weight as an occasional treat. Fresh or frozen both work well. Avoid blueberry muffins or products with added sugar.

Risks to Know

May be a choking hazard for very small breeds if not cut in half. Overfeeding can cause digestive upset. Avoid blueberry products with xylitol.
