Can Pugs Eat Mango?
Mango flesh is safe and nutritious for dogs. It is rich in vitamins A, B6, C, and E. Always peel the skin and remove the large pit before serving.
🐕 Pug-Specific Guidance
Pugs are a small breed (14–18 lbs), so portions should be very small compared to larger dogs.
Pugs are prone to obesity. Factor any treats (including mango) into the daily calorie total — treats should not exceed 10% of daily calories.
Nutrition Notes
High in vitamins A, B6, C, and E. Contains fiber and antioxidants. Relatively high in natural sugar.
Serving Guidance
Peel the skin and remove the pit completely. Cut the flesh into small, bite-sized cubes. Small dogs: 1–2 cubes. Large dogs: up to 1/4 cup. Occasional treat only due to sugar content.
Risks to Know
The pit is a serious choking hazard and contains small amounts of cyanide. Mango skin can be difficult to digest. High sugar content means moderation is important for weight management.
