Can Collies Eat Chocolate?

Chocolate is toxic to dogs and should never be fed to them. It contains theobromine and caffeine, which dogs metabolize much more slowly than humans. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are the most dangerous.

Risks to Know

Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, seizures, and in severe cases, death. Toxicity depends on type of chocolate, amount eaten, and dog size.
