Onions are toxic to dogs in all forms — raw, cooked, powdered, or dehydrated. They contain compounds that damage red blood cells and can cause hemolytic anemia.

Contains N-propyl disulfide and thiosulfate, which are toxic to dogs and cause oxidative damage to red blood cells.
Serving Guidance
No safe amount. All parts of the onion plant are toxic, including the flesh, leaves, juice, and processed powders. Check ingredient labels on human food.
Risks to Know
Can cause lethargy, weakness, decreased appetite, pale gums, fainting, reddish urine, and hemolytic anemia. Symptoms may be delayed 1–5 days after ingestion.
